Week 1 of the Pondering Indian:

It looks like the matchup of 0-2 Pat and 0-2 Jack seems to be critical for their playoff endeavors. According to a recent article, only 3% of fantasy football owners went on to to make the playoffs after starting 0-3 in their respective head-to-head leagues last year. Interestingly enough, Vose started 0-3 in our league last year, only to fall to the dreaded consolation ladder. Moreover, Matt also fell short in his playoff push, starting 0-2. Their records at the end of the regular season?: Matt 4-9, Vose 5-8. This is by no means a total write off, as there is plenty of fantasy football to be played, but a daunting task awaits the one less fortunate come Sunday into Monday.

‘Using data mined from the deepest abyss of our Apple IIGS-powered
databases, we learn that a smidge over 10 percent of teams that started 0-2 in
head-to-head leagues during 2012 made the playoffs.

On the flip side, for all you fortunate, nay, skilled, players who have gone 2-0 so far, your
playoff chances are a robust 40 percent.

So if you’re worried that your 0-2 fantasy team is in trouble, well, it is. Just don’t go 0-3, for only 3 percent of playoff teams started off with such an ineptitude.’

So, do you stand by this ideology of a must win? Or are percentages just percentages? Let your voice be heard in this week’s poll. I’ll be running out a hot button topic to debate each week concerning the NFL, our league, or anything in between. Stay tuned for more of The Pondering Indian.
